Python Blockchain

DaveCoin is a small Python implementation of a blockchain: blocks link to each other through cryptographic hashes, mirroring the core structure behind technologies like Bitcoin, without the networking or consensus layer.

How it works

• Each block stores its transactions, the previous block's hash, and its own SHA-256 hash

• A hardcoded genesis block starts the chain

• The DaveCoin class exposes calculate_hash() and the block's transaction data

• A sample run demonstrates three linked blocks with real transaction data

It's a learning project rather than a production system: no proof-of-work, no persistence, no networking. The obvious next steps would be adding one of those three.
